Communication Earplug Kit As low as $139.00 Other Products from CEP, Inc. The Communication Ear Plug Kit was developed by the US Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL) at Fort Rucker, Alabama, for use in helicopter helmets. Tests conducted by USAARL with aviation units in the field, fully demonstrated the capabilities of the CEP. These tests showed significant reductions in noise frequency spectra that are prevalent in helicopters. In addition, speech intelligibility was rated higher with the CEP system than with any other noise protection system, including active noise attenuation systems. As a result of these extensive tests, the US Army chose the CEP system as the only ancillary noise protection device for use in helicopter helmets for US Army Aviators. How they work:The CEP system provides exceptional hearing protection by using expanding foam earplugs while passing to the ear the clearest speech signal attainable thus allowing extremely high speech intelligibility, even in the noisiest environments. When worn in combination with the hearing protection provided by the helmet or headset, the CEP system provides the highest level of hearing protection available by any method, including active noise reduction systems. The CEP Kit consist of a pair of miniature speakers or transducer elements to provide monaural signals to each ear. Expandable foam earplug tips are attached to these elements to provide a noise barrier, while incorporating a aural tube through the earplug tip to transmit the desired communications. The elements are connected to small wires which are plugged into the CEP headset/helmet adapter. CEP Kit ContentsKit Contents:
